CPIT and Aoraki Polytechnic have recently joined together to become Ara Institute of Canterbury.  The new institute will bring vocational training to the entire Canterbury region with campuses in Christchurch and Timaru.

Underpinning the new institute's name is the Māori phrase Ara rau, taumata rau, meaning many pathways, many opportunities, which embodies the essence of Ara.

This name change will not affect students – whether you already have an offer or are thinking of applying – the courses available to international students remain the same. Contact Study Options if you have any questions about studying at Ara Institute of Canterbury.
