Train to become a retail butcher at TAFE NSW

The South Western Sydney Institute (SWSi) – part of TAFE New South Wales – has recently opened its retail butcher qualification to international students.  The Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) programme provides students with the skills and qualification to work as a butcher within the retail sector.

TAFE SWSi is an award winning provider of meat and allied trades training in NSW.  The programme trainers are practicing butchers who have more than 100 years of experience between them, and a comprehensive working knowledge of the latest industry trends. Each year more than 300 job-ready butchers graduate from TAFE SWSi.

The Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) is taught using a combination of theory based classes and practical workshops; you will also have an opportunity to gain industry skills in a simulated work environment at the college.  You will graduate from this programme with all the skills that you need to enter a career as a retail butcher, anywhere in the world*.

*As of April 2015, retail butcher features in the CSOL (Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List) for Australia, however this is subject to change at any time, please check the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website for the latest information.
