There is a wide variety of business courses offered by colleges in Australia and New Zealand, including: Accounting; administration; banking; marketing; property; business development; human resource management; and advertising.  Some colleges will offer specialist business courses within particular industries, e.g. hotel management or sport management; whereas others will offer a broader qualification covering a number of different aspects of running a business.

Business courses taught in the college environment typically have a more practical focus than the equivalent course in a university.  You will have plenty of opportunities to gain practical experience and will be able to benefit from the close industry connections that many colleges have.  All this means that you will have many opportunities to build a network during your study period, alongside gaining crucial experience to land that job!

In this subject focus, we take an in-depth look at the benefits of studying a subject like project management in the college environment at Entrepreneur Education in Gold Coast, Queensland.  Check out the details below.

More Information

Diploma of Project Management at Entrepreneur Education

Studying a Diploma of Project Management at Entrepreneur Education provides graduates with practical organisational skills, industry experience and various methodological strategies that are commonly used as a project manager.

What separates Entrepreneur Education’s Project Management course from the rest is the exposure to real world projects. As part of Entrepreneur’s business model, the college hosts an in-house design & management studio called e studio 101. In this studio environment, students are guided by industry mentors and the studio’s Art Director, who will deliver real projects to the students at certain stages of their course delivery as part of an internship programme.

These real life projects are centred around the ‘Client Services’ approach to Project Management. Organising time, scope, budget and stakeholder engagement will be a requirement of this internship programme. This course structure is suitable to those who not only want a nationally recognised qualification, but hands-on experience that will increase their chances of employment within their selected industry or discipline.

Students are also exposed to opportunities to apply their project management skills at various promotional events that will provide a platform to gain industry networks.

Marcus Lima studied the Diploma of Project Management

"I have previously studied a degree in Foreign Trade which lead me to work on projects that focused on leadership and entrepreneurship, which I loved. As part of my course at Entrepreneur Education I am able to apply these skills in a real life environment and be a part of the team by assisting with the management of the event ‘Entrepreneur Tank’. Being exposed to events like this will prepare me for a career as a Project Manager and connect me with industry personnel.

“Studying Project Management has allowed my leadership skills to grow, while gaining experience by managing real projects.”
