One of Australia’s most densely populated states, Victoria is home to the cosmopolitan, sophisticated city of Melbourne, which lays a strong claim to being Australia’s cultural capital. Outside the city, Victoria offers many attractions in what is, by Australian standards, a relatively small area. These include the Great Ocean Road, a famous drive that winds along spectacular coastal scenery past the Twelve Apostles, vast limestone pillars at the ocean’s edge, and the idyllic Wilsons Promontory National Park.
