"I’ve always had a keen interest in studying accounting and have wanted to explore the world for as long as I could remember. I decided to look into studying abroad and the found that the TAFE South Australia accounting course not only offered great value for money but would provide me with the knowledge and skills that employers want. My lecturers are fantastic and always go that extra mile to help all their students and make learning and understanding accounting inspiring.

A graduate of the class of ’07, Myles Carr is now Franchise Operations Manager – NSW for AccorHotels, looking after 26 hotels across the region. He says his degree provided him with the foundation skills to feel confident to put up his hand up for the position.

“If someone had told me that eight years after graduating I would have worked in six or seven hotels, with each position different and better than the previous, I would never have believed them,” says Myles. 

“I have wanted to go to New Zealand since first watching Lord of the Rings when I was 11, and I finally got the chance to go there on a working holiday visa in 2011. I met some people who were working at Weta Studios and they invited me to a workshop. One thing led to another and I ended up helping out with various projects at Weta Studios until December 2012.

For 2017, the Northern Sydney Institute, part of TAFE NSW is offering the highest number of scholarships (forty) to international students to study a diploma or advanced diploma, an associate or bachelor degree. Each scholarship contributes AU$2,000 towards the tuition fees for a TAFE NSW course.

Scholarship applicants must complete an application form and submit it before the appropriate deadline listed below.

Don't miss an opportunity to apply for an International Student Scholarship at Sydney TAFE!  For students commencing their studies in semester 2, 2016 the scholarship deadline is just over a week away - 6th May 2016.

Scholarships are available for students studying a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree course with a minimum duration of 1.5 years. The scholarship of AU$2,000 will be credited towards a student's tuition fee on their third semester of studies.

The Endeavour Scholarships are the Australian Government's internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship programme. They offer high-performing students from around the world the opportunity to further their studies in Australia.  For Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level courses you can apply for the Endeavour Vocational Education and Training Scholarship.

This subject focus looks at courses in the area of land management. Land-based industries are hugely significant for Australia and New Zealand, economically and politically, and as a result study in these areas is seen as being of key importance.

The resources and expertise available to students who want to study conservation and land management in Australia and New Zealand are considerable, and very appealing. Courses are developed in consultation with industry, and industry professionals are often involved in teaching and development.

CPIT and Aoraki Polytechnic have recently joined together to become Ara Institute of Canterbury.  The new institute will bring vocational training to the entire Canterbury region with campuses in Christchurch and Timaru.

Underpinning the new institute's name is the Māori phrase Ara rau, taumata rau, meaning many pathways, many opportunities, which embodies the essence of Ara.

This subject focus looks at courses in engineering trades. These courses are popular with students who would like to work in the engineering trades, but would prefer to study in a vocational environment.

Engineering trades covers a wide range of courses in different types of engineering - from locksmithing to automotive engineering, oil and gas to civil.  Students will also find a wide range of levels of study, from certificates all the way through to a bachelor degree.
