Queensland is one of Australia’s top tourist destinations and it’s not hard to see why, with its long golden beaches, sparkling surf and exotic rainforests. The south east of the state – Brisbane and the Gold Coast – includes some of the country’s busiest holiday spots, while further north Queensland moves into the dry and then the wet tropics, culminating in the steamy city of Cairns, which is surrounded by rainforest.
