"I have been a student at Holmesglen for two years now and my study experience has been a positive one. I started studying the Certificate IV in Business Administration at the Moorabbin campus and I was given good advice and clear explanation on the course content by the course coordinator.

My father, who was a doctor practiced Chinese medicine to save so many lives, passed away just after I graduated from University in 2003. This incidence drew my attention to an importance of alternative medicine which can be integrated with conventional medicine.

I came to Melbourne in 2008 on a working holiday visa. After one year, I wanted to learn something useful in English and found massage therapy interesting. Since I had been suffering from stiff shoulders for many years, I thought it would be great if I study about the body mechanism and how to maintain my body healthy.

Hi. My name is Daniela and I'm from Switzerland. I have had the great opportunity to study Interior Design at NMIT Preston.

I absolutely love it. The teachers are great; very helpful and understanding. We have interesting projects and get challenged at school every day. I have made good friendships during my study. NMIT offers a huge range of courses and opportunities.

I like Preston campus because all of the staff are very friendly, the library has long opening hours, you can make use of many facilities and I have to mention the coffee you get in the canteen is awesome.

I was born in the Philippines. I served in the Philippine army for eleven years before I come to Australia. Melbourne is the best place for study.

What influenced you to study locksmithing at NMIT?

My brother in- law, who is living in Melbourne,  encouraged me to do Locksmithing.

Reagan Ng's family has a history of locksmithing, so it was natural for him to want to enter the field too. Reagan says NMIT's Certificate III in Locksmithing is giving him a good overview of the industry and the skills he needs for his part-time work at Amalgamated Locksmiths.

Both Reagan Ng's father and grandfather were locksmiths, but it is not just family tradition that has brought Reagan to the career.

Locksmithing is a trade that has been around for many centuries, although the skill involved in the creation, repair or replacement of a lock is routinely underestimated in our day-to-day lives.  Until that is, your key is lost, or your house or car is broken into; it happens all the time and everywhere, so the opportunities available to qualified locksmiths are near endless! By training to become a locksmith you will work on developing a wide range of skills, from replacing a traditional door lock, to repairing locking mechanisms in cars, or setting up security systems.
